((Intro

In an attempt to organize all my recipes and share them with fellow cooks and bakers, I've started a blog. Initially my recipes were a collection from friends, family, cookbooks, magazines and yes, even newspapers! Now many of my recently acquired recipes are adapted from blogs and cooking show websites.

Thank you for visiting my blog. I hope that along the way you enjoy a few of my recipes and make them some of your favorites too!

Count the memories, not the calories!

Homemade Hot Cocoa Mix

Making your own cocoa mix is easy and it’s so much tastier than any mix. And you can vary your mixes with different flavors of chocolate. Or simply add some flavored coffee creamers for an unconventional treat.

2 (1.75-ounce) chocolate bars (Trader Joe’s Milk or Dark Chocolate or any preferred brand)
1 cup unsweetened cocoa
2½  cups powdered sugar

Finely grate chocolate bar; add cocoa and powdered sugar. Mix well to combine. Place in a plastic bag or an airtight container.

To serve: Add 2 tbsp of cocoa mix to milk or to taste. Stir, serve with whipped cream or marshmallows.  Optional: Add two tbsp flavored coffee creamer.
